What does my student card do?

Once you have had an introduction to your award you will need to know how Information Services can help you find information and support your studies.

The first thing to remember is that your student card, and the information on it, is the key to accessing many of the resources - both physical and virtual.

Your card or username will allow you to:

  • take out up to 17 books, including some DVDs
  • log on to university computers
  • access your learning materials on Blackboard
  • access your library account
  • access the library out of hours
  • access some of our IT rooms
  • read books online
  • use the printers/photocopiers
  • top up your print account

Remember to keep your card with you when you visit the Libraries and IT Centres!

Plus, keep your username handy if you need to access any of our remote services. You will find it on your student card.
