What Can I Request

Click and collect service

Students and staff can request up to 17 items at a time.

When your request is available you will be alerted via your university e-mail account.

You have seven days to collect your requests from the click and collect shelves.

Items are normally issued for two weeks unless there are other requests from users. If so this will reduce the loan period to one week to allow fellow students and staff access to the item.

How do I make a request

  1. Find the items you require.
  2. Click on the item.
  3. Sign in to your Library Account - select Staffs Uni login credentials link.  If prompted use standard university username and password.
  4. Select a pick up location and click Send Request.

Cancelling a request

  1.  Log in to your library account (standard university username and password)
  2. Choose item and click "cancel request"

Where do I collect my requested items

When your book is ready you can collect from the click and collect shelves in Library Core, Library Creative or Library Centre for Health Innovation (Stafford).

To Locate your book on the shelf look under your surname initial, first name initial and the last 4 digits of your student card number.

How do I request books to be posted to me

If you cannot easily access our Libraries we offer a postal service. We can post via recorded delivery 4 books at a time. When you return you will need to use recorded delivery too.

  1. Find the items you require
  2. Click on the item
  3. Sign in to your Library account.
  4. Click "Request" and scroll down to the bottom of the Pickup locations list and select Home address under Personal Delivery.

You can borrow these items initially for 4 weeks but if the item is in demand this will be reduced to two weeks. Items will automatically renew unless requested by another user.

If there is an electronic version available for the book requested we will email you the details and provide a link to access the ebook instead of posting the printed version.

We aim to deal with requests promptly and most requests are satisfied within 7 days. However please bear in mind that items currently on loan can take longer to arrive and we do rely on postal services for this.
