About appointment locations

When you book an appointment with one of the Academic Skills Tutors you can choose either an email appointment or a Microsoft Teams appointment. Please note that, at the moment, face to face appointments can only be booked with members of the team via personal email contact.

The information below may help you to decide which is the best option for any given situation:

  • Select email option from the drop-down list (this makes sure that the Tutor has the time required to answer your query)
  • Fill in the information about your course of study
  • Attach any documentation /assignment

  • Instant feedback available
  • Both parties need access to a document
  • Demonstration of research skills 
  • View online resources
  • Support with using library systems or standard software
  • Personalised video call with option of visuals alongside sound
  • Option to record the conversation/actions/demonstrations for future use
  • Select Microsoft Teams option from the drop-down list (this makes sure that the Tutor has the time required to answer your query)
  • Fill in the information about your course of study.
  • Attach any documentation /assignment
  • Before the scheduled appointment please check that your device is set up correctly.
  • You will receive a message from the selected Tutor confirming the appointment together with a link to join the MS Teams meeting.
  • At the scheduled time, open the message and click on the link to join the conversation
