COVID-19: Information on changes to Library Services

Online Skills Appoinments

You can still book a 1-2-1 appointment with any of the Academic Skills team.  These will normally take place using Microsoft Teams, although you also have the option to submit your work using email for further follow up either by email or online.

Go to our Book an Appointment page and select the Academic Skills Tutor you want an appointment with. When you click the button to book an appointment you may need to select a location either Email or Microsoft Teams Discussion online if the Academic Skills Tutor has made time in both locations available.

Select your preference, and you will then see the dates and times available.  Select the suitable one and then complete the booking form as normal.

You will still get the normal booking confirmation from LibCal, but this will then be followed up by a Teams Meeting Invitation from the person your appointment is with containing a Join Teams Meeting link.

When you click the link you will be taken to the Microsoft teams web page.  If you already have Teams installed you should see a link to  Open Microsoft Teams.  If you do not have Teams installed you have the option to Download the App or to Join via the web. It is recommended that you use the web version if you have not downloaded Teams in advance.  This will ensure you can join the session promptly.

If you haven’t used Teams before Microsoft have some good guides on using MS Teams to help you get started.
