Where is Library Core?

Library Core

Library Core is located on Leek Road at the Stoke Campus in what was formerly Ashley 1 lecture theatres.

Library Core houses books and journals for all subject areas except art and design, fashion and related subjects. 

Opening Hours

Library Core opens from 7am - 10pm for Staffordshire University Students and Staff.

Our Library Opening Times will provide more detailed information for other categories of visitors.

Borrowing and returning books

You can borrow and return books using the new self-issue machines within Library Core.

Click and Collect

You can reserve your book online using Library Search for collection at Library Core.

Study Spaces

Library Core now has a number of study desks installed in the central area and on each balcony.

it is also located next to the new Catalyst building which has a large selection of study spaces to suit different learning styles.

Study spaces can also be found in Ashley 2 and the Science Centre. Accessible study spaces are available adjacent to Library Core in Ashley 1.

In addition, please remember that there is a large selection of study spaces in most buildings across the main campus.

AccessAble guide

AccessAble is an organisation which produces detailed Access Guides which tell you all about a venue's access and what it will be like when you visit somewhere. These look at the route you will use getting in and what is available inside. 

The latest Guide to the Library Core - Ashley Building will be helpful on how to access the building.

Travelling to the Stoke Campus
