What is LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning is an online platform that offers a variety of video courses to help you develop your business, creative and technological skills.  It provides expert-led courses developed by industry experts across a breadth of topics and at different levels of expertise. The thousands of courses included fall into three main areas: Technology, Creative and Business covering many topics within each area.
 

Why should you use LinkedIn Leaning?

Key features of LinkedIn learning:

  • Learn from industry experts. LinkedIn Learning courses are taught by passionate instructors with real-world experience.
  • Learn at your own pace. Choose from more than 5,000 on-demand courses from LinkedIn Learning, and watch at a time to suit you. Help develop your understanding by using the exercise files, practice quizzes, practice environments and coding practice windows.
  • Learn anytime, from anywhere. Download courses to your mobile device to view content while you're offline. Start a course on a desktop device and finish it on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Learn something new. On average, LinkedIn Learning publishes 25 courses each week. Wondering what's new and interesting? Filter for the most recent using the main search bar.
  • Get evidence of courses studied.  When you complete a whole course you can have a certificate to show you have studied this.  You can then share this on your LinkedIn Profile.
  • Get recommendations for new courses. You will get new courses recommended to you based on your interests, what you have already studied and from LinkedIn contacts (if you linked your account)

Accessing LinkedIn Learning

When you log on to LinkedIn Learning for the first time, you will create an account using your University credentials.  You also have the option to link this to your LinkedIn profile if you have one. Once you have created an account you will see recommendations depending on your interests and it will keep a history of courses you have started to study, so you can easily pick up where you left off.
