You will be expected to use a range of standard IT packages whilst at university including Outlook for email, Word for producing assignments, web browsers to access Blackboard and Library resources, PowerPoint for creating presentations and academic posters, and for some students Excel for data analysis and creating graphs. You also need to be aware of good practice in saving and backing up work and working collaboratively on documents.
We can help provide support for these general packages which are installed on all student PCs.
Help is available through the Digital Services Help Desks in the Brindley IT Centre, in the Thompson Library and the Blackheath Lane Library and IT Centre.
The Academic Skills team at the Stoke Campus also offer one-to-one appointments or drop-in support in the Skills Space, Thompson Library. Come along for advice on using Microsoft Office effectively!
