About Library and Learning Services

Make sure that Staffordshire University Library and Learning Services are at the heart of your student journey. Whether you wish to study online using our large range of digital resources or to access our printed collections, we have something to suit you.

Student Connect team

Our friendly Student Connect team are available to help you. If your enquiry cannot be answered by the Student Connect Team you will be referred to a subject Librarian or specialist team at the University to support you.

The Student Connect team can help you with library advice and services provided. The team support library stock (paper based and online), e resources (databases, e-journals and e books), information skills support and MFD guidance.

Support via live chat, email, telephone and face-to-face is available during the following service hours (excluding public holidays and university closures) 

• Monday – Thursday from 8.45am to 5pm
• Friday from 8.45am to 4:30pm

Academic Skills team

The people in this team can help you with all your study related problems. Need to know how to reference? Looking for some tips on improving your academic writing skills? Want to know how to get the layout of your dissertation just right? Meet the team to find out who is the best one of our experts to help you.

We have named staff allocated to each subject area who will be your first contact.


Library Resources and Systems team

The Library Resources and Systems team manage the online and in-library systems and infrastructure that help you discover and access our digital and print collections.

The team has specialist staff members focusing on system development, acquisitions, licensing, cataloguing, digitisation and document delivery. They work closely with our other Library teams to ensure our services are as efficient and effective as possible.

The team also plays a key role in supporting the University’s research publishing and Open Access mandate. Their work underpins REF by organising all the academic research published by researchers at the University, operating the STORE Open Access research repository
