Events and Activities from the Library

The Academic Skills Team offer a range of events and activities to support you with library research, study skills and digital capabilities throughout your time at Staffs.  There are also other regular events within the Library - including our popular de-stress "dog days"!

Skills Space, Thompson Library

The Skills Space in Thompson Library at Stoke is the focus of much of the Academic Skills teams' work with students. 

This is where you can meet us for 1-2-1 appointments, attend Get a Better Grade Workshops, come along for informal drop-in advice, as well as attend special clinics for Maths and Digital Skills support.

Wellbeing Week Activities

During Student Wellbeing week (8-12 October) the Academic Skills Team are holding a number of additional workshops and events, in particular to help you with planning and time management. Making sure you get the planning for your assignments right from the start can held reduce stress and last minute panic.

Time Management and Wellbeing Drop In Session

Stoke Campus

​Need hints and tips on working "smarter not harder" then one of our team will be available on Wednesday, 10 October between 2pm and 4pm for 15 minute drop in discussions.

Get a Better Grade Autumn 2018

The Academic Skills team is offering a series of bookable Get a Better Grade workshops throughout Semester 1. Each workshop is designed to help you get the most from your University studies.

During Semester 1 the workshops will mainly focus on planning and managing your time, approaching your first assignment and finding good library resources.

Student Hub Activities

Photos of Library staff n the Student Hub The Academic Skills Team from the Library will be available in the Student Hub throughout the first semester to help you get started with using our resources and tackling your assignments.  We will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays on alternate weeks. Most sessions are held from 11-1, except where indicated below.
