Leganto is the online system for managing online reading lists. Reading lists online is a straightforward platform that allows preparing and sharing of course reading. It enables all users the best possible experience when using our Library resources. Reading lists online is integrated with Blackboard. An effective reading list creates a diverse, flexible and accessible learning experience.
There are templates available to structure your list. The standard template splits the list into Essential, Recommended and Background reading. The weekly template creates 12 sections which are labelled week 1, week 2 etc. The third template starts with essential followed by sections for weekly readings. Remember to use a structure that supports your specific learning and teaching. It is important to keep module reading in one location rather than using Blackboard, Sway or group chats to help with continuity and to stay within copyright legislation.
Concise reading lists are preferable to ensure engagement from students. Lists that are too large often show lower student engagement. Longer lists are also problematic for the Library in terms of purchasing and ensuring resources are available.
