Between 17th June 2024 and 17th July 2024 - To enable rollover to proceed sucessfully please refrain from duplicating existing lists, creating new lists or assigning new Blackboard courses to existing lists/new lists. All lists will rollover from mid July 2024.
All lists should migrate over and map to the new Blackboard course codes.
This means that you should find that the 'Reading List' link in the Blackboard Ultra course shell maps to the correct reading list (if you did previously have an online reading list for that module in the 2023-24 academic year).
Steps required to make rolled-over lists available.
As part of the roll-over process, all lists will revert to Draft status so will not be visible to students at this stage. You will need to check that content is showing correctly, delete unwanted items, and add new items as required.
You might want to use this opportunity to look over your reading lists, thinking about diversifying content and considering new editions, or purchase/digitisation requests. If you need any support in this respect, please contact your Academic Librarian and Skills Tutor.
Once checked the list will need to be ‘Published’ to become visible to students.
The reading list will then be available for students to use once you make your 2024/25 Blackboard course module public to students.
Adding to Blackboard and MS Teams
You should find that the 'Reading List' link in both the Blackboard Ultra and Blackboard course shells maps to the correct reading list (if you did previously have an online reading list for that module in the previous academic year).
If you need help with finding that link please contact the TILE team.
To add to MS Teams you can add a new tab using the Website option and add the URL for the Reading List.
For help with the reading list itself (content or functionality) please contact the Library on readinglists@staffs.ac.uk
Setting up new reading lists
If you have a new module then there will not be a list automatically mapped to this. This will include those modules that have moved to 20/40 credits. You can create a new list from scratch and associate this with the relevant Blackboard course.
In Blackboard when you click the Reading List link then you will be prompted to create a new list and associate it with the course/module.
