Skills in your Pocket

This guide will help you understand effective ways to study from home and on the move

Software for your own computer

As a student you are eligible to download some University-licensed software to use on your own computer.

This includes up to five free copies of Microsoft Office 365, as well as more specialised software such as SPSS and NVivo.

To see the full range of software you are entitled to and find out how to download and install this, see our Software Downloads page.

If you have any problems downloading the software or have questions about this, please contact the Digital Services Support Desk.  (3800@staffs.ac.uk)

Study Smarter with Technology tools

We have created a Study Smarter with Technology guide of recommended free digital tools.  These can help you to improve your learning and study how and when it suits your needs and circumstances.

Topics covered include: Reading, Writing, Collaboration, Text-to-Speech, Planning, mind-mapping and more.

The tools we have included are free of charge and the guide has links to download these via Staffs Uni or from the appropriate app store for your device.

There are lots of other tools available as well as those mentioned, so if you find one we have not included that works for you, please let us know!
