Our programme of online events

The Library and Academic Skills workshop programme will be back in September 2024! 
In the meantime, explore the range of workshops that will be available using the menu on the left, where there are videos of the basic content for many of the topics. 

We look forward to seeing you in September!

 

The Academic Skills team offers a series of online workshops. All sessions run online using Microsoft Teams.

Workshops are grouped under four main themes with a number of different workshops under each theme.

  • Planning your work
    includes time management, acting on feedback and planning final year projects/dissertations.
  • Finding information and referencing it
    includes finding good academic resources and basic referencing.
  • Improving your skills
    includes tackling an assignment, academic writing, critical writing, reflective writing.
  • Using the technology
    includes AI and ChatGPT, Word for long documents, LinkedIn Learning and the using the Study Smarter with Technology guide.
  • Additional workshops
    includes a welcome session exclusively for postgraduate students and fortnightly Virtual Study Sessions.


You will have the opportunity to ask quick questions and share experiences and tips with other students as well as receive guidance from the Academic Skills Tutor. Follow up individual appointments will also be available.
