Our Lynda.com service was migrated from 'Lynda' to 'LinkedIn Learning' on Sunday 13 January 2019.
What happens after the migration?
Students and Staff with existing accounts:
For students and staff who had an account on Lynda.com your learning activity and history from Lynda.com will be transferred to LinkedIn Learning (LiL) when you log in for the first time. All the Lynda.com courses you've started will still be available and the links you're currently using to courses, videos and playlists will continue to work after the migration.
If you have previously used Lynda.com look out for an email to your University email account which will contain a link to activate your LinkedIn Learning account. Note that for some users this email has been showing in the Other, rather than the Focused inbox (for those who have these two options).
Don't worry if you do not have the email as you can still activate your account by logging in through this direct link:
Select the option to login with our Organisational Portal. Note you will be asked if you want to connect your LinkedIn account as part of the initial login. This is completely optional and you can choose to connect this at a later stage if you wish.
You will also be asked to select some Skills you might be interested in. This will allow LiL to recommend relevant content to you. You will need to select at least one option but have the chance to add more or change your selection later.
Note that only those staff and students who previously used Lynda.com (and so have an account on that system) will get a direct email. If you haven't used Lynda.com why not give LinkedIn learning a go? Follow the link from the Research Tools section of the Library Resources page.
Access for Overseas Partner Students
Following the upgrade to LinkedIn Learning there is a different way for students at Staffordshire University Partner Colleges to create an account. This is because the authentication now requires a Staffordshire University email address.
Overseas Partnership Students should follow the steps outlined in the document below to create a LinkedIn Learning account:

LinkedIn learning app
A new LinkedIn Learning app is also available. This can be particularly useful for viewing content offline. Please note that the old Lynda.com app will stop working after the migration, so you will need to download the new app from the appropriate play store.
