What is happening? The University’s laptop loan service (LapSafe) is having its login system migrated to Active Directory. Users will no longer require a library PIN and will instead login using their normal credentials the first time they access the system. They will then set their PIN directly for future use.
Note that previous users of the LapSafes will have their PIN migrated and will not have to setup a new one.
Why is this work being done? This will give both users and administrators of the system additional functionality e.g. the ability to restrict certain bays to specific groups of people. Users will also be able to reset their PIN directly from the Lapsafe units once the change has been applied (rather than by going to the library webpages).
When is this happening? Wednesday 26 July 2023 from 9am to 12pm.
How will this affect me? During this period, no LapSafe users will be able to borrow or return laptops from LapSafe at the below sites.

LapSafe administrators will not be able to login to the LapSafe or the management portal.
Any units which are on loan can be returned once the work has been completed. No late fees will be incurred for this additional period of delay.
