Digital Skills

The place for all things digital relating both to your studies but also professional and personal skills.

Showcasing your digital skills

Celebrating proficiency or development of a skill is important not only to give yourself time to reflect but also record your achievements and showcase to others in your network what you have been developing on. Sometimes, it can be difficult to showcase this especially with hard skills if it is quite a wide topic. For example, you might use Adobe Photoshop to create an poster, or maybe you've used excel to record data.

How can you show others that you have the skills to use a program or piece of software?

Sure, you can use a portfolio or show a project file but sometimes being able to show a accreditation is important to show that you understand the software or application, not just achieve what you set out to do.

A great way to do this is to complete personal development sessions which can award you with certifications for that area to display on profiles such as LinkedIn.

Digital Certifications through University of Staffordshire

During your time at University of Staffordshire, you do have the opportunity to get digitally certified on a range of applications from Microsoft to Adobe which are accredited from their respective companies.

To see what you are able to get certified on head over to the Digital Certifications SharePoint page where you can access information and schedule in for a digital exam.

On successful completion you will be awarded a digital badge for the software. This gives you the ability to share your skills online which can be easily verified in real time by an employer. Add them to your LinkedIn profile, CV or email signature.
