With World Book Night taking place on Sunday 23 April 2023 we thought it would be a great opportunity to let all our students know about 3 ways they can access books to read for pleasure…
1) Students can get an online account with Stoke-on-Trent libraries by visiting the Stoke-on-Trent City Council website and selecting ‘Click to Join’ at the bottom of the page – you can use your university email to join. This account gives access to a fantastic selection of online books.
2) At Stoke main campus there are reading pods located in Verve. These are comfortable spaces to relax with a book, bring your own to read or swap with one on the shelves next to the pods.
3) World Book Night, as run by The Reading Agency charity, are offering everybody a free audiobook. Students just need to subscribe via email, and pick their choice of one of four books. They will then be sent a code for that book that can be downloaded via Google Play, with the download being available until Friday 30 June 2023. The page for the free audiobook is here.
