About Qualtrics

Qualtrics is a web-based survey software tool available for use by all Staffordshire University staff and students.  Qualtrics can be used to conduct publicly-available surveys, or to give specific users access to a survey. 

Some of the uses of Qualtrics include:

  • Collecting data for research projects or assignments
  • Assessing user satisfaction with academic programmes
  • Gaining feedback on administrative and support services
  • Recording statistics on usage of support services


  • Access many question types through the Qualtrics Library
  • Create surveys with embedded video, audio, and graphics
  • Send and track participation invitations
  • Create surveys that only show appropriate questions to each user
  • Choose from a range of templates, fonts, and colours, including Staffordshire University branded designs
  • Create reports,including filtered results within Qualtrics
  • Export data directly to SPSS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV format or PDF.

If you had a Qualtrics account before January 2015 you will need to migrate that account over to the first time you log on.  Migrating your account will ensure that you can still access all of your surveys and reports.  The  document below describes the steps you need to follow in order to do this.   If you have not used Qualtrics for a long time and would like to start with a clean account then you should follow the steps to create a new account.
