UK Disability History Month

Support

Not all disabilites can be seen. This Disability History Month we'd like to raise awareness about hidden impairments.

"Many disabled people have an invisible/hidden impairment now and in the past. They have been not viewed as disabled people but still been mistreated. Equally because of the negativity associated with impairment, many who can pass as non-disabled have chosen not to identify, even though this has caused them many difficulties."

For more information on support available if you have a disability or additional need, visit the section on Disability Support on the university website.

Our Staffs Uni Student Inclusion Advisors will be able to talk through support available - based on your personal circumstances and needs and may include putting into place reasonable adjustments.

You can book an appointment with a Student Inclusion Advisor via the booking form. Generally appointments will be via Telephone or Microsoft Teams unless you are asked to come to campus.

Support From The Library

Visit the Accessibility Support section of the library website to find all the information you'll need about accessibility within our libraries.

The library provides a range of services and support for students and staff with additional needs. We have made sure that our libraries are fully accessible to wheelchair users with lifts available for access to the different floors within the libraries.

We recommend organising an appointment with your Academic Skills Tutor as soon as possible to discuss your individual needs in relation to using the Library and its services.
