E-Books Guide 2023

E-Bookcentral Proquest

The majority of E-Books owned by the library are accessed via E-Bookcentral. The E-Books can be accessed direct from a reading list or library search (Primo).

The main landing page will look like this:

Read Online Mode

Read online allows the user to scroll between pages by using the arrows located in the top right hand corner of the page

The user can also navigate within the E-Book by clicking table of contents (TOC) on the left-hand side of the screen or by using the search option which allows a search of a specific word or phrase.

The magnifying glass +/- in the top right-hand corner of the screen can be used to zoom in and out of the text as required.

The highlight option allows for passages to be highlighted throughout the E-Book.

Citation options for the E-Book can be found on the top right-hand task bar.

Downloading E-Books

If the E-Book is available for download the user will see “Full download” option.

The user will then be asked to confirm what device the E-book will be downloaded to.

The user will be prompted to download Adobe Digital Editions.

The next option will allow the user to designate loan length and format options (EPUB or PDF)

Please note that you are unable to print or copy from a downloaded version of an E-Book.

Printing E-Books

Printing is only available via read online mode. The print icon can be found in the top right-hand side of the screen. Once this has been selected the user will see the allowance for that title. Select the pages required and click continue.

Then select “Open PDF” and print the document.
