Devices and Software

Online Access

To access all our ebooks online you will just need a web browser.

Downloading

Most platforms place restrictions on downloading eBooks. These include how long you can access the eBook, and how much you can print. See the Accessing Ebooks tab for more information.

Publishers Software required for downloading only

EBC, Ebsco,  Elsevier, Oxford UP, Palgrave, SpringerLink, Taylor and Francis, Wiley          

Adobe Digital Editions  

Reading Online

You can read all of our ebooks online, without the need to download them, using the device's web browser.

Downloading

If you want to read our ebooks offline, you can download Adobe Digital Editions.

The length of the download period will vary from publisher to publisher. Many can be downloaded for 24 hours at a time, particularly EBC, whilst others can be downloaded permanently.

Adobe Digital Editions

Our eBooks are generally not compatible with traditional eBooks readers like Kindle, which use their own software. 

As the Kindle fire tablet access the internet you are able to reading online, download the eBooks as you would on another device.

 

You will need to install Adobe Digital Editions to read some of our eBooks. This will depend on how you are trying to access them. 

For some eBooks you will need to install Bluefire Reader. This will depend on how you are trying to access
